Central VA: Lunch with Leadership Deborah Davis, Chief of Strategic Initiatives for the VCU Health System

Please join us for an engaging discussion with Deborah Davis, Chief of Strategic Initiatives for the VCU Health System, and learn about her career journey toward being an industry leader.

Ms. Deborah Davis, Chief of Strategic Initiatives, VCU Health System, has more than 40 years’ experience in the health care industry.   She previously served as the Chief Executive Officer, VCU Hospitals and Clinics and Vice President for Clinical Services for VCU as well as the Chief Operating Officer since joining the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in 2007.  Ms. Davis was previously the President of Pitt County Memorial Hospital (now Vidant Medical Center) in North Carolina.  She serves on the Vizient University HealthSystem Consortium Board of Managers, and previously served on the CEO Executive Board, which represents academic medical centers across the country.   Ms. Davis is currently on the JV Board of Managers, Board of Directors for the Valentine Richmond History Center, the World Pediatric Project, the Chamber RVA, the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association Advisory Committee on Safety, Quality and Service and is a member of the Children’s Hospital Foundation. Additionally, she currently serves on the East Carolina University/BB&T Center for Leadership Board of Directors, was previously a founding member of the East Carolina University Women’s Roundtable Board of Directors and served eight years on the Board of Trustees for East Carolina University ending in June 2019.    Ms. Davis has served on various American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) committees and served as a Regent-at-Large.  In addition, she has served on the American Hospital Association Committee on Health Professions, the American Heart Association, the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association Board and on the University HealthSystem Consortium Executive Committee and Board of Directors.  Ms. Davis was active in the Council of Teaching Hospitals (COTH) and the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), serving previously as a COTH Administrative Board member, a COTH representative to the AAMC Assembly and as the COTH representative to the AAMC Group on Diversity and Inclusion.  She is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
